A masterpiece of construction by architectural genius Frank Lloyd Wright, Falling Water, in Mill Run, Pennsylvania, was created to ingeniously blend with its surroundings. Built over a waterfall for the family of department store magnate Edgar J. Kaufmann in 1939, it displayed Wright’s fascination with European modernism, nature and daring structures. An educator, author of twenty books, and head of an architectural firm, Wright significantly influenced modern architecture in theory and in practice.
